During his address, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of building a united, developed, and self-reliant India, paying tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs.
On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, CM Yogi Adityanath hoisted the national flag at his official residence in Lucknow on Thursday. Following the flag hoisting, he extended his greetings to the people of the state and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters who played key roles in India's independence movement.
"On this day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uttar Pradesh. I bow before Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of truth and peace, and salute the brave sons of 'Bharat Mata' who elevated the struggle for freedom...Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, BR Ambedkar, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, and all the revolutionaries and freedom fighters," said CM Yogi.
He further urged everyone to pledge to fulfill the dreams of India's great heroes, noting that the country has now entered the third phase of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal' under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, heralding a new era for India.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister took to X (formerly Twitter) to reiterate his respect for the martyrs and called for the construction of a 'One India-Great India, Developed India-Self-reliant India.'
He tweeted, "Heartfelt congratulations to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the 78th Independence Day. Infinite salutes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Mother India! Let us all pledge today to build an India of the dreams of our immortal martyrs. Vande Mataram, Jai Hind."
