CM Adityanath Unveils Scheme to Foster Youth Entrepreneurship

On the 78th Independence Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled a new scheme aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the state, Adityanath detailed his government’s initiatives and the strides being made to fulfill his party's promises.

In his address, the CM announced the 'Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan Yojana,' a scheme designed to empower young entrepreneurs by providing financial support. The initiative aims to establish 10 lakh micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) units, generating employment opportunities for 50 lakh youth. Adityanath emphasized the importance of youth in nation-building, stating, "Our youth are the backbone of India’s progress, and their talent is crucial for creating a developed nation."

He also highlighted that over 1.62 crore youth have secured jobs through investments in the state, and 62 lakh have been linked to self-employment opportunities under various government schemes. Additionally, 6.5 lakh youth have secured government jobs in the past seven years. To further promote entrepreneurship, a dedicated start-up fund has been created, and 2 crore smartphones and tablets are being distributed to make the youth more tech-savvy.

Adityanath spoke about the ongoing revamp of educational curricula in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the enrollment of over 20.5 lakh children in council schools this academic year, and the direct benefit transfer (DBT) of Rs 1,200 to parents for school essentials. He also mentioned the establishment of Mukhyamantri Awasiya Vidyalayas in every division and the development of Chief Minister Model Composite Schools in 57 districts. Moreover, 190 new government high schools and 58 inter colleges have been set up in previously underserved areas.

The CM highlighted the progress of the 'One Division, One University' initiative, now expanding to the 'One District, One University' goal, with new universities functioning in Azamgarh, Aligarh, and Saharanpur. Ongoing projects include state universities in Moradabad, Gonda, and Mirzapur, an agriculture and technology university in Kushinagar, and the nearing completion of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University in Gorakhpur. He also noted the upcoming Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow and the state’s first sports university under construction in Meerut.

Adityanath reiterated his government’s commitment to the welfare of marginalized communities through the Antyodaya initiative, ensuring that every poor and needy individual benefits from government schemes. Over the past seven-and-a-half years, 56 lakh poor families have received housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 2.62 crore people gained access to toilets, and more than 1.86 crore were provided free LPG connections. Additionally, 2.65 crore families received drinking water connections, and 15 crore people benefited from free food grains. The CM also emphasized improved living conditions for marginalized communities like the Vantangiyas, Musahars, Tharus, and Kols, who were previously neglected but are now integrated into mainstream development.
