Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a major initiative to enhance road connectivity across Uttar Pradesh, urging all MPs and MLAs to submit proposals for the construction of new roads, bypasses, and bridges within the next 15 days.
In a video conference with elected representatives, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for high-quality roads in every district, village, and urban area, assuring that there is no shortage of funds for these projects. He called on representatives to work closely with district administrations to prepare detailed proposals, which will be promptly addressed by the state government. He highlighted that even villages with populations as small as 250 should have access to paved roads.
Adityanath also urged the preparation of proposals for bypass roads in districts where they are lacking and allocated budgets to improve connectivity to religious, historical, and tourist sites, stressing that better roads are essential for boosting tourism.
He further emphasized the importance of connectivity to industrial and logistics parks and requested immediate reporting if any tehsil or block headquarters is not connected by two-lane roads.
The Chief Minister also mentioned ongoing efforts to improve interstate and international connectivity, including the creation of ‘Maitri Dwar’ at border areas. He directed officials to complete a statewide road repair and pothole-filling campaign by October 10.
Additionally, he instructed strict enforcement against the overloading of heavy vehicles, focusing inspections at their points of origin to avoid traffic disruptions.
The meeting included participation from administrative officials across all zones, divisions, and districts.
