The five-day Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2024, inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, aims to promote the state's trade and cultural heritage. With over 2,500 exhibitors from 80 countries, including Vietnam as the partner country, the event seeks to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth and cultural richness.
During the opening ceremony, Dhankhar credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efficient, corruption-free governance for transforming Uttar Pradesh into “Uttam Pradesh.” He highlighted the state's rising economic stature, stating, "Uttar Pradesh is now a key contributor to the nation's economy, and with platforms like UPITS, the state is well on its way to achieving its goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy."
Discussing UP's rapid industrial development, Dhankhar praised Noida’s strategic importance, recalling its role in hosting SEMICON India 2024. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is not just the heart of India but also its economic engine, turning challenges into opportunities and emerging as a global trade and investment hub. He noted that Vietnam's participation reinforces the international focus of this edition of the trade show.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude for the Vice President’s guidance and reiterated the state’s economic vision. He pointed out that UPITS provides a vital platform for local traders to display their products, while also noting the state's infrastructure development, including seven operational expressways, four international airports under construction, and 11 functional airports.
Adityanath underscored that Uttar Pradesh is poised to become the growth engine of India’s economy, with initiatives like UPITS inviting global collaboration in the state's journey toward becoming a $1-trillion economy. He also praised the event’s role in promoting sectors such as MSMEs, handicrafts, and the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. The event saw participation from various government officials and representatives from Vietnam, further enhancing its international scope.
