Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Wednesday that all beneficiaries of the PM Ujjwala Yojana will receive free LPG cylinders this Diwali, instructing officials to ensure timely delivery before the festival.

In addition, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of public vigilance during festivals like Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath to maintain law and order. He specifically highlighted the need for enhanced security and attention to women's safety during Navratri, urging heightened vigilance in sensitive areas, given past incidents.

Adityanath directed police stations, circles, and district police to maintain direct communication with all Durga committees and tableau processions. He also called for liquor shops to close within the designated hours and emphasized that no illegal slaughterhouses or open meat sales should be allowed.

The Chief Minister outlined ongoing initiatives aimed at improving women's safety across Uttar Pradesh, setting targets for completion. He noted that various departments, alongside the police, will play a role in this mission. Nodal police officers will be appointed to each district for better coordination.

Adityanath added that women across the state, from villages to cities, will benefit from empowerment schemes, and awareness programs will be launched to connect women with self-employment opportunities. The Yogi government is also expected to introduce several initiatives under Mission Shakti during Navratri.
